Hannah Spiro has been singing and strumming at Washington, D.C. area coffeehouses since she was 13. Now, at 21, she is a fixture in the D.C. music scene and is revolutionizing the concept of Jewish music, beginning with her 2010 alt-Jewish CD, "Aliyah", which is comprised of her own versions of prayers, stories from the Hebrew bible from a female perspective, Jewish folk tales, and more. "It Is Upon Us," her 2012 album of original Jewish prayer, is available for purchase on CD Baby and iTunes now!  Hannah's sound is a combination of folk, pop and rock, reminiscent of such other singer-songwriters as Natalie Merchant and Tegan and Sara.  In the fall, she'll be beginning her studies at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College.
